One of the most enjoyable perks of living in Reston is the vibrant, bustling farmer’s market held Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at Lake Anne Village. The market runs from April through December, offering residents a unique shopping experience.
A Reston Tradition
The Reston Farmer’s Market began in 1997 with 12 vendors and today features more than 30 merchants offering everything from fresh produce to meats, baked goods, local honey, flowers and prepared foods. Parking can be a challenge at this popular market, but there is a parking lot onsite as well as surrounding street parking.
More than just a Farmer’s Market
Enhancing the lively atmosphere is the adjoining Open Air Craft Market, which includes an array of artisan booths to browse. Craft vendors can drop in, so the offerings vary weekly, and include things like handmade jewelry, fine art, and clothing.
After enjoying everything both markets have to offer, there is more to explore at the shops and restaurants around the lake. The Lake Anne Coffee House & Wine Bar is a cozy spot featuring patio seating and locally roasted coffee, as well as local food, wine, and beer. For art and literature lovers, check out the Reston Art Gallery and Studios, and the expansive Reston’s Used Book Shop. With all this, a trip to the Reston Farmer’s Market easily qualifies as a full-blown outing!

Spring Valley Farm and Orchard Coming from just outside Romney, WV, you will find a wide variety of beautiful, farm fresh produce, including flavorful lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes.
Baguette Republic Be prepared to wait in line at this artisan bakery that serves a vast selection of fresh baked breads, cookies, and pastries. A great, first stop at the market for a quick bite and to stock up on a variety of delectable goodies.
