- Envision Route 7 (planning): the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission’s bus rapid transit plan for Route 7, running from Tysons through Broad Street and Seven Corners to Alexandria; City Council received a briefing in October 2026. At the October 1, 2026 NVTC board meeting, Falls Church and Fairfax County members pushed to move it toward funding, and the board is expected to be asked to accept a staff report in December 2026. No construction cost or date has been announced. Details: Falls Church leaders want Route 7 bus rapid transit moving faster.
- Seven Corners (Fairfax County, proposed): in June 2025 the Board of Supervisors authorized a plan amendment for the former Sears site to consider residential use at up to 63 units per acre. Public hearings had not been scheduled when we checked.
- City street and park projects: the city lists its transportation, stormwater and park work, including West Broad Street multimodal improvements, on its Projects page.
