In the past few years, several long-standing Reston Town Center locations decided to close their doors permanently, paving the way for some new restaurants and retail to fill the gap. Though there still remain a good number of vacancies waiting to be filled, here’s what Reston residents can look forward to, coming soon!

Restaurants

Fogo de Chão

The Brazilian steakhouse chain is taking up residence in the space previously occupied by Big Bowl for the past 30 years. The traditional Churrasco experience should have no trouble forging a path with its tableside service of all-you-can-eat meats, Brazilian sides, salads, soups, vegetables, cured meats and other things to nosh on. The restaurant also has a few entrees to choose from and is open for lunch, brunch, and dinner. 

For happy hour, the bar features a selection of $5 Happy Hour Bites, along with small plates, large plates, and all-day, happy hour drink options.

Open Road Distilling Company and Heirloom Restaurant

Pairing up to fill the location Baldacci’s vacated, Reston residents can look forward to the best of both worlds in this distillery/restaurant combo. Guests can enjoy a tasting room experience with distillery tours, and choose between indoor and outdoor patio bars, and a casual dining room featuring a farm-to-table menu. Opening late in 2022, this combo will also bring live music to Reston Town Center, something that should promises to add vibrancy to the nighttime scene.

Sixty Vines

Goodbye Clyde’s, hello Sixty Vines! The Texas-based restaurant offers 60 wines on tap for its customers to enjoy along with small plates and boards, entrée offerings, and communal seating.

Pisco y Nazca Ceviche Gastrobar

Ceviche lovers, rejoice! This upscale Peruvian gastrobar, landing in the former Vapiano location, has approximately 9 varieties of ceviche on their menu. The restaurant also serves brunch, lunch, dinner, and has a tasting menu. This is the place to find authentic Peruvian cuisine with a twist, as well as traditional specialties like fried yucca and empanadas.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House

The long-vacated Il Fornaio space will finally get a new tenant in Ruth’s Chris Steak House. The celebrated chain, known for its’ mouthwatering steak entrees, is expected to open its doors late in 2022. The restaurant will add to the happy hour culture of RTC with their Sizzle, Swizzle, Swirl Happy Hour featuring food and appetizers starting at $11, and cocktails and wine starting at $9.

Entertainment and Fitness

CitySwing

Reston found their answer to TopGolf in CitySwing, an indoor, immersive golf experience where visitors can learn, practice, or play golf with the use of simulators. CitySwing’s mission is “to make golf fun and convenient for everyone.” In addition to lessons and simulator rentals, CitySwing also offers packages for corporate events and parties.

The St. James Performance Club

This 25,000 square foot studio took over for Crunch Fitness, which closed its doors at the end of 2021. The St. James features personal training, group classes, immersive cycling, and state-of-the-art fitness equipment.
