It’s a new year and new townhouse, condominium, and mixed-use developments are popping up all over Reston!
New homes are often pricier than resales, but there are big benefits to buying new, like peak energy efficiency, which is more environmentally friendly and will give you savings on your monthly bills. Homebuyers also enjoy the newest safety features and the ability to make some choices regarding design and finishing. Down the road, when resale time rolls around, you will be able to command a higher price than you would with an older home.
Some new communities in Reston are currently heading to close out, with limited inventory available. There are also several new, mixed-use developments on the horizon for 2020 and beyond. Take a look:
12000 North Shore Dr.
Just a few garage condominiums and townhomes remain in this building located a mile from the Wiehle-Reston East Metro station. Priced start at $589,990 for townhomes or one or two level condominiums with up to 2,677 square feet.
1971 Roland Clark Place
Now in its final phase, the luxury, 4-level townhomes are close to Reston Town Center and feature gourmet kitchens, rooftop terraces, and all the amenities of living in Reston. Priced from $824,900 for 2775 to 3075 square feet of living space.

Located at the corner of Sunrise Valley Drive and Reston Parkway, next to the future Reston Town Center Metro, this mixed-use development will include 1,500 residential units, with 15% set aside as affordable housing. Retail and office space will be included in the project, along with an 80,000 square foot Wegmans, the restaurant/bowling chain Pinstripes, along with other restaurants and a movie theater.
