Loudoun County
Loudoun County is one of the fastest growing areas in the U.S. Currently the population is estimated to be 361,708 making it the third-most populous county in Virginia. It’s situated about 30 miles northwest of D.C. and despite its proximity to the city, Loudoun is still considered to be a hometown area.
As of 2011, Loudoun County had a median household income of $119,134. Since 2008 the county has been ranked first in the United States in median household income among jurisdictions with a population of 65,000 or more.Loudoun County is the headquarters of choice for many companies within the tech and service industries, creating an abundance of job availability within the area. Additionally, Dulles Airport is located in Loudoun County and projected in late 2017 Metro expects to finish the Silver Line Metro Rail project which will service the area.
Buyers looking for a suburban location will find Loudoun County quite attractive. There is an abundance of communities with spacious single family homes, many with amenities within walking distance. In recent years, several areas have developed popular mixed use residential areas that combine the convenience of urban living with popular retail shops. Many popular areas of Loudoun are Ashburn, Aldie, and Leesburg.
