New homes are often pricier than resales, but there are big benefits to buying new, like peak energy efficiency, which is more environmentally friendly and will give you savings on your monthly bills. Homebuyers also enjoy the newest safety features and the ability to make some choices regarding design and finishing. Down the road, when resale time rolls around, you will be able to command a higher price than you would with an older home.

2020 and Beyond
Sunrise Valley Dr. and Campus Commons Dr.
A 1.35 million square-foot development featuring residential, office, and retail space, along with a recreation area. Three buildings with about 655 apartments are in the plans for this development across Wiehle from Reston Station.
Another major, mixed-use development near the Wiehle-Reston East Metro, this development boasts 2,100 residential units, including apartments, condominiums, flats, and townhouses, and includes 14% as affordable housing. A full-sized athletic field and a neighborhood green are included in the plans.
Located at the corner of Sunrise Valley Drive and Reston Parkway, next to the future Reston Town Center Metro, this mixed-use development will include 1,500 residential units, with 15% set aside as affordable housing. Retail and office space will be included in the project, along with an 80,000 square foot Wegmans, the restaurant/bowling chain Pinstripes, along with other restaurants and a movie theater.
This 33-acre mixed-use development located between Reston Town Center and the Silver line Metro station will include 2,010 residential units, along with retail, office space, and a hotel.
Across from the Reston Gateway project, Phase Two of RTC West will include a 20-story apartment building with 293 units and a 22-story residential tower with 283 units. Phase Two also includes retail and office space.
